NothlitWriter7 is on a distinguished road
Hello!

I've been lurking on and off for about a year now, but I've been too busy with college to work up the nerve to begin posting. Now I'm recently graduated (English degree) and unemployed with entirely too much time on my hands.

I'm preparing for a career in book publishing, but one of my dreams is to attend an MFA program, so I need to start working on that portfolio. I write poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction, but I'll be focusing my attention on fiction for the time being. My biggest writing weakness is slowness. I over-think little things like word-choice and sentence structure to the point of exhaustion because I'm not a fan of that necessary evil--revision. And because I find it difficult to move forward without making definitive choices.

I'm also a bit scatterbrained--too many things I want to write, too little time. I have a novel I'm working on, and I'm officially about 25 pages in with another 20+ pages of brainstorming. Given that it's been in progress for a year, that's proof of how slow I work, haha. I fear the only reason I even got that far was because of a creative writing class I was taking.

So I'll end this introduction there before I go on too long. I think it will be quite a while before I get up my nerve to post any of my own work (even after I surpass the 50-post limit), but I hope to give some good constructive criticism to everyone else's work in the meantime. Pretty daunting considering there are so many good writers here!

See you around!

Hello, and welcome! I'm a slow writer too, though my excuse is I'm a procrastinator. See, I'm on here instead of working on my book. I need focus.

Welcome to the site hope you enjoy it as much as I have. So don't be afraid and take your shoes off and dig you toes in and have fun. Don't worry I have the slow writers ailment as well. If you like we can create a support group for any other person out that that suffer from chronic slow writing episodes. You have graduated step one and admitted step 1 by acknowledging the problem. Then you got past step 2 and started posting on this site. You will be well on your way to recovery if you keep this up. thanks the iron man
