FB likes - just sayin' guys!

Okay, so sometimes on Twitter or various other places I get a message from another writer that goes something like this "Please, please, please like my FB page. I really need some likes and I'll be happy to like you back."

So, if I'm in a happy mood, I'll tool over to said page and see if the person looks interesting, or nice, or pathetic enough for a pity like and I like their page.

Now, if it is a female author, this like is usually quickly reciprocated to my own page. Guys, however NEVER seem to like me back.

What's up, guys? Am I hideous? Are you not manly enough to withstand the hot pink cover art and killer shoes? I liked your zombie-apocalypse-dystopian-vampire-porn-with-battle-axes page. Where's the luv? I'm totally un-liking you now (yes, that IS petty, so there).

Just sayin'.

Ahh - some manly men at last.

Brian Rush - I liked you even though I don't see your like (maybe I'm having a blonde moment)

kenthepen - I see your beautiful like, however I am unable to like you in return because you have a personal profile. If you have an author or business page set up, shoot me a link and I will happily return the favor!

Just gave you my virgin like. But, piece of advice: use a sexy pic like this or this for header background and insufficient likes will be history. Now, what's your web site about?

I always Like back, though I've seldom been afforded the opportunity. I've also noticed some non-Liker-Backers in my short time with a FB page, but a few of them have been women as well. I haven't paid enough attention to notice if there were more one way or the other, to be honest.

I have noticed the problem of not being able to Like people with personal profiles though. It makes me crazy when I want to thank them, and often I can't even leave a comment on their wall due to a friendship requirement which I cannot solicit.

You are liked! Yes, the page/personal thing on FB is both handy and frequently annoying!

*tips hat*

You know, it also annoys me a little that Likes from fellow pages don't count in your like-counter.

I love likes but with the new system some pages do not show up as likes in your numbers - maybe the guys are pages, not people so they don't show up?
That said, guy bloggers are the worst about leaving comments, saying thanks when you do them a favor or following.

I do have lots of guys who like me on Facebook - did that just sound like a 14 yr old girl bragging?

Like away - I will like you back. If you follow me and let me know it, I will follow your blog back. If you want your blog linked on mine along with encouragement to visit and false words of praise, write me a letter asking for it - and by it I mean me giving you a snarky totally unhelpful solution with a retro twist.

You (and your page) made me smile - you are LIKED.

I will probably eventually be dragged (kicking and screaming) into the blogosphere. Until then, you are off the hook for snarky, insincere promo!
