Really Blue Books

Didn't see a thread for them:

http://reallybluebooks.com/

Thoughts? They are newish, and don't have much info up on the site, but I did find THIS interview with RBB publisher Sarah Bailey.

I'm looking for places to sub my 21k word YA contemporary novella to, and don't mind taking a chance with a new house, as long as they seem on the up-and-up to the smart people here. Thoughts?

Bump. Anyone see any red flags, other than it being a fledgling press? I didn't see the staff's names on any of the books at present, so that's good...

ETA: Went ahead and submitted. It's not like I have tons of options, so, yeah. Will update when I hear anything

Terrible choice of company name -- they're already having to say "no porn here" on their front page.

They're an ebook publisher. They want world ebook rights. They say you're free to get your book published in hardcopy if you can, but that's getting harder for titles that don't have ebook rights.

I'd check the major ebooksellers to see whether RBB sells through them.

Whoever wrote their site copy is flippant and inexperienced, but a talented writer.

They're Australian, so flippancy is virtually a given.

The books are priced decently on Amazon. They have some good reviews from verified purchasers. Milo & I from Antony Mann has been published before - this is his bibliography on his website which looks pretty decent.

However, there's no information about who's behind the company, so no information about their experience and they only have a few books so far.

I'd have a lot of questions before signing anything, but I'd give them a punt.

All of their titles are a able on amazon, and the person behind the scenes is Sarah Bailey (interview linked in one of my previous posts).

I'm subbing a novella, so I long ago gave up on the delusion of seeing it in print, so that's no biggie to me.

Thanks for the thoughts

Congratulations!--I think. I still don't know enough about them to have any opinion either way. Me, I'm leery of newcomers, but then, I'm not a risk-taker in other aspects of my life, either.

Maryn, stodgy as hell
