Hello!
Well, thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Troy and I published a non-fiction book on acting through Heinemann Publishing a few years ago. Sold out of the 2500 print run, although they still show up on eBay and amazon. After going the traditional publisher route, I decided to try self-publishing my fiction MG novel.
I'm currently editing the ms, after it has been sitting in a drawer for several years. Unfortunately, I am dreading getting through it, because I know about half way through I change POV from the young protagonist to his father.
I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. Most of the places I've read say to stick with the young character's POV for MG novels, so I'm feeling a sense of dread thinking about re-writing the entire second half. Id welcome any suggestions or encouragement, but can make another thread separate from the introduction if that would be better.
Anyway, that's me. I started a kickstarter campaign to help fund my cover illustration, but it fell short, so I ponied up the entire thing myself. So if everything else fails, I'll have a cover! Right now I am just dreading making the decision on the POV issue.
Oh yeah, I currently live in Iowa and have a cat.
