Just wanting to introduce myself as a fellow writer/student from Edinburgh!

Been putting pen to paper for a 'while' now. However I keep managing to write things I don't want to. I have written mostly poems but would love to write good, whole short stories which is something I always struggle with - it's the primary reason why I came here. I like to read literary-themed books and would love to write similarly, but most of my short story ideas are SF (of which with regret I read very little).

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know everyone in the community.

Welcome.

If you're looking to improve your writing, there is the SYW section. But you must have 50+ post to post your work there, and yet, you can view and comment on other's work right away.

Welcome! This is a great place to try out new things. I'm writing a...well, I'm not sure where it fits - historical fiction sort of. But, I've participated in a few of the monthly horror prompts and had a lot of fun. You get great feedback and get to dabble.

As Will said, SYW (Share Your Work) is a great place to put up short bits and get feedback. It's a good idea to go there before you hit your 50 post minimum and give feedback on a few pieces, even if it's just "I liked it!". Password is: vista

Hope to see you around the threads!

Hello, and welcome! :)

I've written short stories all my life and I love it. Have motioned into a love for novel writing now though, but it may as well just be temporary as I have given it a try just now during NaNoWriMo :p

However I keep managing to write things I don't want to.

Chalk 'em up to practice. You're saving the awesome stuff for later (that's what I keep telling myself, at least).

:D

And Welcome!
