It still wouldn't surprise me if some of the guestbook slamming isn't generated in good ol' Fredrick.

"See, those old meanies. They just don't understand you like we do. Come here and we'll take good care of you."

I'm just as interested in conspiracy theories as the next person, but I just don't see that much of an upside for PA being a guestbook slammer, or any other behavior that might break the happy spell.

I also don't believe it was someone from AW, especially after the recent expulsion of two members for the very same thing. It's probably just some idiot trying to stir up trouble for everybody. Maybe so they can read about their antics on the PAMB and/or here? Could I have (possibly) done exactly what he wanted by posting this here? Have I allowed myself to be used by this person? Did I ask too many questions for one paragraph?

I think this specific slammer is going at that guy for reasons that have nothing to do with PA. Invoking his publishing choice is just an obvious target.

Nice try. Websites are private property, like living rooms. If you're being an *sshole on someone else's private property, they have every right to remove you, and that's not some moral failing.

You know what is hilarious! You only allow nice posts on your website! That you erased the bad is a real show on your character as a man. Your ego is beyond anything I seen. Your publisher is a scam artist and you been scammed and your head in the clouds makes you look now only ignorant, but pathetic. When you buy your own books repeatedly and are not put in book stores, dont get mad! Remember you were warned and you were too stupid to listen!

This reminds me so much of old Mr. Book that it isn't funny.

Especially the 'You were warned' junk in the last line. That creeps me out. I hope they find out who's doing this....and why do I also get the feeling, as some have pointed out, that this is emanating from Frederick, Maryland?

I sent a note to SC, asking the same thing, Jim.

I'll make that offer to any PA author with a guestbook slammer, though. My email addy is available under my profile, here. Feel free to email me a link to the post and the IP number on guestbook slams.

It resonates with me too.

I'd like to elaborate on Mac's offer. Anyone who's had a guestbook slammed/slimed could send the IP to Jim or any of our supermods and we'll see if we can find a match (or other pertinent data).

I sent an e-mail to the author in question, but I have to wait until I get home to see what he says. He may not even respond to me, since this is the first time I've ever tried to communicate with him.

Maybe our friend Carl can find out?

But this entire post has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Take it to overflow, take it to a How Not To Write Reviews thread, take it somewhere else.

Or even Simon Cowell.

Btw, Simon Cowell told Will Young that his performance was very average:

William Young made his first big impression by standing up to judge Simon Cowell after he criticised his performance as "distinctly average". Up until then he had been one of the less outspoken and showy contestants. But not one to take things lying down, the 23-year-old told Cowell he did not agree with his opinion, much to the delight of the remaining contestants. And the following week, Cowell was big enough to admit he had been wrong and told a grinning Will, "You've humbled me". If pop stardom eludes Will he has a politics degree from Exeter University to fall back on and has also studied drama in London.
Will went on to win the competition:

As the chairman of Wigan Athletic, Dave Wheelan, said when his team made it to the final of the Carling Cup (they will meet Manchester United in the final). "This has been extraordinary."

I couldn't have put it better myself.

Shelagh what does that have to do with PA or anything on this side of the forum? American Idol is a show, it is fake....please stick to the subject of PA and the frauds they perpetrate among the writing community.

PA is like Simon since he gives all a "tone".

I know of one PA writer who is happy just to be published, she said she has no ills toward them at all being that she didn't look around for a publisher, she just wanted her book published "as is" and feels happy with them. She said she hopes the royalties are enough to pay her electric bill next month only. I guess its a good outlook and she said her next book will probably been sent to someone else. I find her attitude refreshing, I'm sure she will do fine bc she has not been sweating the small stuff. She did not pay for publicity, she only had a book signing and a few orders printed out for other people, the rest in her opinion, is too much and should not be bothered with.

Does this woman just come here to jerk our chains?? I mean she flys in here every blue moon, tries to promote her novel and pisses everybody off with her rhetoric and then disappears again.

Is she getting some twisted mental orgasm from this ?? Just curious.

Greg, I gave up trying to figure people out long ago. You can`t save the world. If she hasn`t clued in by now, she never will. Leave her to her .99 cent royalty cheque, and let`s get back to those authors we really can help. Those who want support, serious writing careers, and a desire to achieve greatness.

Sootie.

Gee Spar, you catch on quick, "cough"

Seriously, I am quite sure she is getting a good laugh from reading the upstream posts.

Ignore. You're wasting your time. She knows what P.A. is, believe it.

Believe me, she is clued in! She is just hurting and can't admit it to herself...that's why she is here...for sympathy.

Does sound like someone we all know, uh? Wonder if he moved or had a *ex change?
