I've made a living all my adult life as a nonfiction writer -- journalist, speechwriter, freelance. In recent years I had the time and worked up the inclination to have a serious go at fiction.
The result is
The First Impression, which has already been read by
dozens! (If you want a peek inside, the Kindle page has a longer preview than the paperback page.)
Indie publishing is a wonderful thing, but the marketing is something else again ... a whole new set of wheels to learn.
Since the story centers on a particular town in Central Virginia, I've arranged to appear on a local TV interview program there, and a local newspaper columnist plans to write a column at about the same time. I'll also do a book-signing at a local bookstore, all of which should at least let people know the book exists.
Thus far, readers I've heard from tell me they really wanted to keep turning the pages. That's as much as I could hope for from a first effort.
