Man unhappy with spirit of ghostwriting
Sorry for the dumb title up there ^ .
Was just reading this story about Fat Man Walking, the 400-pound man who walked from San Diego to New York. I'll post a little of it here (should be fair use, it's a long story): Last summer, Vaught signed a book deal with a New York publisher. For months he has been writing down his thoughts, then sending them to a ghost writer who has compiled a book to be published just weeks after the end of the trip. Vaught received a sizable but unspecified advance that enabled him to stay in motels along the way instead of camping out most nights. He says he was told changes could be made, but now they're backing off and telling him they like it as is. His deadline approacheth. The story doesn't mention which publisher he's working with. |
