Nice! I have most of those, but it's always nice to find more. Maybe this should become a sticky post? *grin*

Looking for something within AW? You can also use Google. Type "site:absolutewrite.com/forums/ search terms" where you put your own search terms in and you don't use the quotation marks. Easy peasy!

This is valuable information. Nice to have one place I can go to where I can find links to these blogs. The blogs themselves are an invaluable service and often, if I have a question, I can scroll through an agent's blog and find the answer, therefore saving the need to post another thread. Besides, they are entertaining reading. It's great that so many agents are choosing not to hide behind the mysterious mask of "The Agent" and are making themselves accessible this way. Reading the blogs and all the up's and down's of "the agent life" serves to remind me that these people are human just like me, that they, too, have good days and bad days, kids to pick up from soccer practice, hubbies to tend to, dishes to wash, pets who lie on manuscripts, and printers that go nuts right in the middle of that all-important project.

LOL...I had this happen to me two nights ago when I was printing out a partial to submit to an agent who requested it. Wasted an entire hour trying to get the crazy thing to work! Luckily my husband fixed it the next morning and I got it printed off and mailed...

Good Lord. This blog scares me!

I should hope this guy isn't a real agent cause I definitely don't think I'd want to put my work in his hands to sell. Okay, the blog is somewhat entertaining reading, but nevertheless he sounds like a pyscho and makes Miss Snark seem like an absolute cuddly teddy bear by comparison.
He openly professes to "detest" writers, as well as (apparently) most editors and just about everyone else he deals with on a daily basis. If he's on the level, and is an agent, I can only imagine what his relationships with these editors and houses must be like. I'm not sure I'd want someone pitching my work who has alienated himself from half the industry.

Maybe he's an absolutely efficient and competent agent by day who blows off all his pent-up steam and frustrations by night via this blog. Who knows? But if this guy's on the level, he seems on the verge of going postal to me.

I will admit, though, I never read an agent blog that elicted so many "WTF"'s from me every other sentence, so it's worth checking out for the entertainment factor if nothing else.

Good Grief. I suppose I should read more of "The Rejecter" because I really love Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck cartoons.

Is this for real? Or is someone pulling our leg(s)?

or am I crazy?

Am I the only writer turned off by these blogs?

If I created a blog in which I vented about the people I work with, my clients and business associates, I would be sacked as soon as my employer discovered it.

I can't be the only person who would rather not patronise a company that has its workers mocking query letters like they think they're Dave Barry, or, worse, posting that they're listening to INXS? I find it unprofessional and feel like I'm dealing with a bunch of smart-mouthed teenagers.

I don't object to people having personal blogs; it's the association with their agencies that truly bothers me.

I actually enjoy the blogs. I like the glimpse behind the scenes that they give us. Now and then, I do squirm and think,"that's not right" but on the whole I've learnt a great deal.

Hey, I'm with you Miss.

This blog is totally unprofessional. Not impressed.

I am bored with some big headed assistant taking out his frustrations on a bunch of query letters from aspiring authors.

Who is this Rejector, someone who won the Pultizer prize or the Nobel prize for writing demeaning remarks about struggling people's efforts to succeed. What's his life all about?

Blogs are okay, but I think Daffy Duck could do better than this one.

Ooh, I like the Dystel and Goderich blog! Yay for more agents getting blogs. Plus, this one seems very professional and not as personal.
