Hi everyone, new here!

Hi all, my name is Ann and I just stumbled across this forum today. I'm so happy to have found it! I've been searching for a while for one that's active and this certainly fits the bill.

I'm a new writer and have just recently completed my first few freelance assignments. I've enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember but haven't tried to turn it into a paying job until now.

I've been a dog trainer for much longer than I've been a 'writer', so naturally I'm trying to write about what I know and drafting together some pitches for pet magazines. I was lucky enough to get some freelance work this month writing dog articles for an individual, so that's got me on cloud nine!

I've also been working on a dog training book for years, some day it'll be finished...someday.

Anyway, I look forward to meeting you all. I'm sure I'll learn a ton from this forum.

Hi Silver. That sure is a nice color you sport in your handle.

When you have a chance, check out the Writing About Animals/Nature forum located here. You'll find plenty of info there that seems right up your alley.

Good luck, and welcome to AW.

Hello Everyone!

I too am new here. I wanted to introduce myself and hopefully get some help figuring all this publishing stuff out, lol, how confusing it all is. What a great site I found this to be already, I have read peoples words here and already learned so much. Another reason I joined was to find out about a certain publishing company that I read some comments about, one that a freind of mine went with and got taken for all he was worth. I have been trying to help him get his work back from this bogus publishing company.

Well, I am pleased all the same to be able to be here amongst you all. I have been writing myself for many years but have yet to have anything published, but am working on that now, finally! With all my freind has gone through, I sure am learning a lot about trust, or the lack there of.

Take care...... RLee

Hello there, Roma. I'll extend a warm welcome to you as well. We were, however, using this thread to welcome Silverpaws. I know Ann doesn't mind sharing, but if you'd like, you can reintroduce yourself in a new thread where you will be showered with hellos and affection intended only for you.

Welcome Ann. The book you're working on sounds very intriguing. My friends call me the puppy whisperer. I am a non-professional dog trainer myself. I help my friends and family train their dogs. Dogs like me for some reason?

Anyway, welcome to the Cooler. I hope you get some great direction for your book here. There's a great forum on Animal Writing...I'm sure you probably found it already.

Enjoy!
