ARE WE STILL AT THIS ????
Why are we still all bickering back and forth about this. Gena, you've had your 15 minutes... five plus hours of fame. It is obvious that we're not going to change your mind and your not going to change ours.
Let us all sheath our claws and our acerbic repartee and call it OVER !!! Gena we hate PA(Teh corporation not the writers!) that will not change. PA suits your needs and puposes and fits your partucualr literary mission statement.. point taken.. good luck and godspeed may you be the exception to the rule. My friends.. WE ARE BEATING A DEAD HORSE !! AND NOT THE PURPLE PONY. Gena if you're tryng to make some other point besides kicking up a hornet's nest then make it. The arguments on both sides are becoming circular and reptitive after five hours of continuous debate about issues we will never, ever agree on. Gena you've obtained your goal of immortality on this thread. Mission accomplished and we've refuted your point and counterpoints and other counterpoints and you've defended and redefended your position. Let's respectfully agree that we're never going to see eye to eye. Also Gena I question your motives for posting here.. I smell self interest.. but I'm an overly suspicious character at best. THis threads purpose is to expose PA for what it is a FRAUD your endless ramblings may have delayed that for an evening but it will not derail the ongoing topic. You have provded an enjopyable distraction from teh matter at hand, no more, no less. Enjoy your night of fame and brag about it over at PA but realize that you haven't changed anybody's mind here you've only served to further galvanize our postions. What you've gained here only you really know for sure. For God sakes.. we're all adults..let's play nice and move on.. I've got a third book to write and Jenna needs a foot rub before her evening hot cocoa. -Gherkin the Cabana Boy

Gena is trying to get banned.
For those of us who post on AW we contrast ourselves with the PA message board we tell the truth. The AW board and the participants say that a poster won't be banned for conflicting opinions. You can tell the truth on the AW board without fear of condemnation.
I believe that Gena is trying to get herself banned from the AW board to prove a point. Gena, it don't make no matter mind to me whatever you post. I wish you the best with your writing. I truly do. This thread, this one, right here, is to let writers know that Publish America doesn't tell the truth about itself. Hey you, the guy with the thriller, don't consider PA as your publisher. And that lromance writer, don't go with PA. All of you writers out there, I have been you, I am still you. I believe in you. You have stories to tell. But if you give your story to Publish America, no one will ever hear of it. Being published by PublishAmerica is worse, far worse, than never being published at all. Dee |

No where have I tried or would try to change anyone's mind when they have been wronged. For the last freaking time. I am posting my experience because I assumed this was a discussion board and it was allowed to have an opposing point of view I agreed to disagree a long long time ago...I'm waiting on the some others to catch up. |

Your own words in at least two places have stated that you're working the system. Gaming is my choice of words, but it means the same thing. Well, this forum is not here for you to work the system. It's here to appeal to other writers and this particular topic is meant to save other writers from misfortune. Your intent to work the system, with only that strictly in mind, is an abomination. As well, I detest your all too obvious attempts to make it appear that some of us have stated things that we did not say. You stated, "But for the record I didn't say YOU SAID THAT. I said you were not the only person to mention her. AND then discuss how reputable she was." The point is that you connected those two meanings into a single sentence, thereby giving the impression that I did state that. That is not honest of you.

break's over - back to work!
and here's the great response to the editing question...
http://www.publishamerica.com/cgi-bi...ounge/8784.htm Oh, and as for the myth about us using spellchecks, and other nonsense, here is what some of your peers have had to say recently: Dr. Gerald Roe, author of "Terror in the Steel Mountains": "As to the editing process, I found PublishAmerica to be careful, detail oriented, and, on occasion, rather tough. It was obvious to me in the several "back and forths" with my own manuscript that a fine tooth comb was applied to my every word. As a college professor, I deal with editing, grading numerous student papers. The work is tough and exacting. There are times when even the closest scrutiny fails to spot every editorial need. Perhaps those who complain the loudest should spend more time developing their own editorial skills. We do, after all, claim to be writers." John Shiffert, Director of University Relations, Clayton College & State University: "Please accept this note of highest commendation for "my" editor, Jennifer Hendershot. As a first time author, but also an editor (of books, and in the newspaper, magazine and business fields) of many years experience, I must tell you how impressed and appreciative I am of Ms. Hendershot’s work on my book, 'Baseball: 1862 to 2003'." Eileen Bennett, author of "Incidental Tears": "YOU are my hero! I can't tell you how much I appreciate it... It was a joy having you as my editor!" Gloria Lewis, author of "Rain on Red Clay": "Dear Sandee, You are a jewel of a lady. Your guidance in the editing process has made me feel so much better about my book. I hope PA pays you well because you more than earn your salary, having to deal with insecure writer such as this soul. I sincerely appreciate all your work and help. PS: I'll miss working with you." We have over the years received literally thousands of such thank-you notes. That's the real story about our editing. So can we now go back to reality, please? ************* LOVE the last comment...

p.s. - folks, the "ignore" function is there for a purpose.
when all meaningful conversation has ceased, there is nothing left but weak excuses to try and force website traffic. don't let her "work the system"... |

Well Gena, we've heard your view.. over and over and over and over and over and over again.
PA would not be as accomodating and you know that. Even if by some stretch you do get yourself swept away, you still haven't accomplished anything. You've been allowed your say, far more than your Publishers web site would allow. Get your butt off your holy high horse and start acting like a reasonable mature adult. Enough with your seneless martydom (poor me I though I was free to post my opinion here). It's becoming too trasparent. We've been polite despite your rudeness, despite your everchanging conflicting and rambling posts. But I grant you within your 100 plus posts in ONE EVENING you've actually managed to make some semi valid arguments. I sincerely beleive that you are wearing out your welcome.

They also make claims (falsely) about having their posts deleted...which is always exciting to listen to... Not making a judgement call either way, but that may help to explain...

You need to back the fugg up off this reasonable mature adult. There is no martyrdom here and I'm growing tired of the personal attacks ON ME. I have not personally attacked anyone in here.
