I moved here in 2001 after living in California for 20 years. I'm a New Yorker (Hudson Valley) and I was always homesick in CA. Oregon reminds me of New York, especially in the spring and fall. I like our rainy climate because I've lived with worse--snow and humidity in NY, 105 degree temps in CA. I'm a gardener and you can't beat our long gardening season! I'm slowly getting a sense of being "home' here--if only I could talk my sisters into leaving the Northeast. It's a great place to live!

That would be great!!! I saw that you were here - too late, of course - and I wondered if you'd be up for something like that!
That was the reason for this thread...I thought it might be cool to get together with some local writers and have some fun! With or without the significant others and children!!!
Ha! Any excuse for a spanish coffee - all the yummies mixed together in one warm gulp.

Mac, I was there on saturday for about half an hour looking around. I figured it wasnt worth 35 bucks to wander around looking lost as I was already doing it for free. Born and raised here I was. Dont know how many of you would want to meet me as im not a writer, but Im here. peace yo.

Let's pick a weekend, guys. Do we like downtown? I'm thinking somewhere sort of central, where we can all meet and hang out for an evening. I'm very partial to hotel bars that serve food--but it's not a must. Downtown Portland has a lot to offer.
