Can people recommend some good MG urban fantasy? Does middle grade even have urban fantasy? If not, fantasy would do. I'm trying to figure out a general word count and I'm not sure where to start.

I think Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl would qualify. Also check out Gregor The Overlander--not really urban fantasy, but it has some elements. Or, Lionboy, Zizou Corder.

Oooh, or go vintage: Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising series is classic. Gotta love it! And Diana Wynne Jones. The Ogre Downstairs rocks, but so does Dogsbody and most of her other older stuff.
