I wish dial up was fast enough to load and watch you tube stuff so that I would not miss so much of what there is to miss beacuse missing stuff makes me feel naked or something but I am not sure if that is what I really feel like when I miss stuff or just maybe incomplete though I know that I am not imcomplete inside where beauty really stalks waiting to come out and show the world how special I am when the some of the world does not care and they dont even care if I miss stuff on you tube either I guess but maybe some of them do and one of them will send me a million dollars to set up a satelite dish if I can find the sattelite or maybe I'll just go down and win the lottery and the first thing that I would do is buy a satelite of my own then I would give every one in the world who care about me missing stuff a million dollars which would still leave me a lot of money since that would probably ony take up about a half million dollars and I could use the rest for buying candy that I could hoard in the woods where nobody except maybe a lost hunter would find it while he was out hunting and got lost so that he couldn't find any deer even though there are a lot of them but they have agreed not to eat my candy as long as I dont give the hunters directions to wherever the deer are but one of them said I could give the hunters the directions to Hell if I wanted to and he would like that very much and maybe even not eat my candy which I had hoarded when I bought it with all of the left over lottery money that I didnt have to give to people who cared about me missing stuff on you tube and maybe in other places too because

Upon reading one of Porter's recent tirades, I was reminded of a small problem we have back here in The World. It has to do with a gallon of maple syrup we received this past Christmas. A whole gallon of syrup is too much for us to deal with all in one go. Opened, it tends to go moldy before we can finish it. I would like to preserve it in quart size lots in order to keep the greedy little saprophytes at bay. My question is, would canning it in a water bath be adequate, or must it go through the pressure canning process?
What say the old timers?

Water bath canning is fine. By the way, if you do get a little of the dark mold skin on top, it does not ruin the syrup. Lift it off and forget you ever saw it.
