This will be a themed chain. Most bloggers who have a preference seemed to prefer a common theme to follow. With the snow finally melting in the north, I thought Spring and New Beginnings would be a good theme.

Deadline to enter: Saturday, April 5th, 10:00pm CDT.

A quick run down of the guidelines:

1. Email, PM, or respond to this message to sign up. If you have a preference on where you're placed, include that information. I will update the list as I get more names. If you don't see your name, make sure I didn't miss you!
2. On Sunday, April 6th, I will post the list here, including the code for a list of links for all the participants.
3. When it's your turn, please:
Post a permalink of the person before you.
Post a link to the person after you
Post to the Blog Chain thread here to let us know you've posted (include the permalink)
PM the person after you to let them know it's their turn
4. In keeping with the spirit of a chain, please try to take some element of the previous post and build on that. Last month, we had some interesting turns!

If you have any questions, let me know!

So far, I have:

Escritora
Polenth
Unfocused Me
ColbyMarshall1
Gillian
FreshHell
Mada
WildScribe

I'm game again. I don't mind where I go and, as you can see, only one blog in my signature now so feel free to use that one.

Just a couple more days to sign up!

Thanks to everyone who likes my theme choice. I was worried that it would be too cliche, but nothing else came to mind. I hope it's a great chain!

Cliche? Maybe, but the posts are what are supposed to break the mold anyway. :)

I'm game. But can you explain it just a little bit more for the slow old people? I did a blog chain once, I think? I don't understand the theme. Do we write a post on our blog on the theme and then comment on each other's post?

Just a few more details... please. I'm old and fragile.

My BLOG: http://wanderingpoetics.wordpress.com/

And I don't care what order I am placed in.

Themes are open to interpretation. You can see the February Chain beginning with Unfocused Me. The theme that month was "balance" and it varied from balance in life to balance as a writer to balance as a parent, etc.

Essentially, it's the same as any chain. When it's your turn to post, you pull some morsel from the person in front of you and create your post. In turn, the person after you will pull from your post.

Does that make sense?

At a computer?
Hey, I just gave birth to a blog the other day, so this is highly appropriate - a new beginning and all. Count me in, although be warned, I'm a newbie and do not know in what ways a permalink differs from any other link.

A permalink is when you link directly to the post. For example, http://heatheraynnebrooks.wordpress.com/2008/04/04/journaling-by-candlelight/ is a permalink to my most recent post.
A "regular" link would be directly to your main blog page (http://heatheraynnebrooks.wordpress.com)

Make sense?

Argh... No. Sorry. I guess I'm just slower than I thought? So somebody posts on the theme on their blog...and then the next person pulls something from that post and posts on the theme as well, on their own blog with a tie-back to the blog from that person?

Why am I not getting this?

It sounds like you understand, but you could check previous chains to be sure. These two posts list out the final entries for two blog chains. If you read the posts in order, you can see how it went:

February Chain
January Chain

I'm about to pry myself away from the computer to get ready for a girls' night out, but I promise to not have too much fun to the point where I can't post the list of links tonight or in the morning!
