a) Your avatar is deeply alarming. :)
2) I got a polite form R from Ms Heifetz's assistant less than a week after I queried. Maybe try again?

Cheering you all on!
For Maya, I would assume that if you queried her, you're free to query another WH agent. That's just my assumption. I know she worked with her clients to try to find them homes.

I equeried Ms. Heifetz 2/11, still waiting to hear back.

Grey was your query by email?

Grey was your query by email?

I queried Ms. Heifetz via email to her assistant on 2/16 and got a request for a partial on 2/18. Maybe yours didn't get through? Does she reply to all?

Wish I could offer more help.

That's interesting. I thought she only took snail mail. I wonder if I should query again but through e-mail?

AuntB, what email did you use?

Thanks AuntB. Good luck to you!

I just asked her (she's my agent.) She DOES accept equeries. They should be addressed to her assistant, Jennifer Escott, to: JEscott at writershouse dot com (obviously, replace the @ and .)

Good luck! :)

I used this one

Allow me to share this: I e-queried Daniel Lazar yesterday morning, got an immediate "out of office-horrible weather" reply, and was sent a rejection by his assistant last night at 9 pm cst.

I e-queried using the same email as bclement. She was on my list to snail mail query, but my work schedule is atrocious and isn't really compatible with post office hours, so it never really happened. When I saw Cathy's post, I jumped on the opportunity to e-query.

Thanks bclement!

Queried Steven Malk one week ago and got 2hr reponse for full. Looks like he takes two weeks to read MS, so I've got more waiting to do. Sounds like a great agent though.
I wonder if he or his assistant reads the MS he requests...anybody know?

I agree. Every time I see it, it freaks me out a little.

Haha! :) To me it's just realistic. It reminds me of my crazy cat who I can't turn my back on.

Queried Ms. Heifetz on 16 Feb, got a partial request form her assistant on 18 Feb, sent it out same day. I'll let you know how it goes.

Did you send just the one page query? Or did you add a syn or pages? I can't seem to find what all they want sent.

And, of course, good luck Dev!

Uh, yeah. Your avatar makes me LOL and my stomach curl at the same time. If that's what your cat looks like then I fear for your ankles.

For anyone who's sent by snail mail -

Should I specify it's for her on the envelope (ex, C/O Jodi Reamer), or should I just use the standard submission address and leave personalization for the letter?

I queried Mr. Lazar a few days ago and he responded in one hour with a request for the full. He even sent an email confirming receipt of the manuscript. What a wonderful guy! I would love to have him as my agent.

I always put "Attn: Ms. Agent" on a snail mail which ensures it reaches the agent I'm looking to query.

Put the agent's name on the envelope, either c/o or Attn: agent name
