How To Write for
Websites, Ezines, and Newsletters The following is an excerpt from Kyle Looby's e-book How To Write for
Websites, Ezines, and Newsletters. There are essentially five ways to find potential jobs and markets for websites, ezines and newsletters. The first is to check out job boards. These are job listings that can be found on ezines especially for writers. You can also find such job and market listings on general job search websites. This is also true for classified ads, which can be found on various writing websites. To access potential writing opportunities for websites, ezine and newsletters, check out the job boards and classified ads on these ezines and websites for writers: Freelancewriting.com http://www.freelancewriting.com/forumdir/fjb/index.html Sunoasis Jobs http://www.sunoasis.com/freelance.html Elance http://www.elance.com American Journalism Review Job Link Copyeditor Job Board www.copyeditor.com/scripts/jobfile.cgi Creative Freelancers www.freelancers.com/helpC.html Editor and Publisher Classifieds Ants www.ants.com Freelance Bank www.freelancebank.com Inscriptions: Job Opportunities www.inscriptionsmagazine/ProfOps.html Inkspot's Writers Classifieds www.inkspot.com/classifieds Telecommuting http://www.tjobs.com/new/writers.htm World Wide Freelance http://www.worldwidefreelance.com/markets.htm The Write Jobs www.writerswrite.net/teljlist.cfm Writers' Job Market www.sharpwriter.com Writerfind.com www.writerfind.com/freelance_jobs/ The Write Markets Reports www.writersmarkets.com Write Market Webzine www.writemarket.com Smarterwork www.smarterwork.com Iuniverse Job Board Write For Cash www.writeforcash.com Writers Guidelines Database www.mav.net/guidelines/ Another way to access writing opportunities is to sign up for newsletters, mailing lists, and discussion groups for writers. Most of these have job listings, as well as other valuable information for writers. Most of the ezines and sites for writers above have newsletters, and here are some other good newsletters for freelancers: The Write Moves: thewritemoves-subscribe@topica.com Writemarkets: http://www.egroups.com/group/writemarkets Workforwriters: http://www.egroups.com/group/workforwriters The Write List: http://www.egroups.com/group/Write_List Working writers: http://www.egroups.com/group/WorkingWriters Write at Home: http://www.egroups.com/group/WriteAtHome The fourth way to find ezines and newsletters to write for is to check out your favorite websites and newsletters. Think about your hobbies and passions. What interests you? I bet there are a number of ezines, newsletters, and websites out there dedicated to your interests. Surf the web for your favorite sites, and chances are, they accept submissions. They'll likely have guidelines listed, too, to help you get started. And don't forget your favorite newsletters. There are lists for every subject imaginable. Subscribe, post, and pretty soon, you'll be ready to contribute an article or two. Where do you find ezines? www.infojump.com www.egroups.com
