Finding the Bacon
By Kimberly Ripley

Greetings, avid freelancers, and welcome to this fall issue of Finding the Bacon. Is the frost on the pumpkin yet in your neck of the woods? Here in the Northeast, we’re counting the days until frost bites both the pumpkins and our toes. In the meantime, we begin reaping the bounty of our harvests and planning for fall festivals and the onslaught of leaf peepers. Leaf peepers travel from miles away to view the brilliance of the changing foliage in the Northeast. Prior to their arrival, they read a variety of New England publications—each providing a tempting tale of a person, place, or thing they may encounter on their journey. These fascinations certainly aren’t limited to fall. Check out the following guidelines and query an editor with a unique winter, spring, or summer find.

En route to the foliage, consider a stop in Boston for a city adventure. Boston Magazine is filled with trendy suggestions.
