| Absolute Editorial *Please be advised that Absolute Editorial is not accepting new clients at this time.* If you're looking for writing or editing services, you've come to the right place. Absolute Editorial employs top professional writers and editors. Each member of our faculty is experienced in particular areas of writing, and we will set you up with someone who is skilled in your particular genre or medium. You can also make requests for particular staff members, if you have a preference. Our faculty members have written and edited for companies such as Simon & Schuster, F&W Publications, Ladies' Home Journal, Gibson Greetings, Barnes & Noble, and Penguin Putnam. Now they're offering their services to you. We are dedicated to your total satisfaction, and are eager to help writers at all stages of their careers; we welcome both new and published authors, as well as corporate clients. Tell us what you need, and we'll tailor services to you. We offer a variety of services, including developmental editing, copyediting, business writing, technical writing, critiquing, proofreading, marketing advice, ghostwriting, translation, and more. If you're just looking for quick impressions, we can do that. If you want detailed line editing, we can do that, too.
Fees Our normal rate is $40/hour. We are happy to discuss lower fees for ongoing work. For a free estimate, please contact us at awediting@absolutewrite.com. You will be asked to submit either the entire manuscript, or a few sample pages and a word count (preferably as an e-mail attachment). In the case of corporate clients, please send a project description. We will then send this material to your editor, and he or she will give you an estimate of how many hours it will take to do the work you need. We accept manuscripts electronically or in hard copy, and are happy to handle works of any length. We accept screenplays, novels, short stories, works-in-progress, poetry, articles, book proposals, query letters, treatments, comic books... whatever you need, we can help. Why us? Absolute Write has been around since 1998. In that time, we've met thousands of writers, and have long-standing relationships with the cream of the crop. We know who the quality editors are, and we employ them. No one slips through the cracks around here; there are no secretaries posing as professional editors. Our aim isn't to "satisfy" you-- it's to thrill you, to make you think, to make you see your work in a different light, and to help you get published. Turnaround times Our average turnaround time is two weeks from the arrival of your manuscript. If you need quicker service, just say so. If your work will require more time, your editor will let you know, generally at the same time as you receive your free estimate. What to send us The more specific you are about what you want, the easier it will be for us to fulfill your expectations. Along with your manuscript or sample pages, please let us know more about your work (including its genre), your background, and your concerns about the work. For example... "I have written two literary novels, and have begun submitting this one to agents and publishers. I keep getting rejection letters, and I want to find out why. One agent mentioned that my dialogue needed improvement, and I have a feeling the opening pages aren't strong enough. I'd like a complete edit, with special attention given to dialogue and character development." Or... "I am a published romance author attempting my first out-of-genre novel. This one is a suspense novel, and I'm not sure if I've nailed it. I'd like a quick critique to figure out whether it's worth it for me to keep working on this project, or if I should stick to romance." Or... "I need a press release and tri-fold brochure based on material I will send to announce my new party supplies business." How to pay We will give you specific payment instructions once you've received your free estimate. You can pay online or by phone, fax, or mail, and you can pay by credit card, check, or money order. We ask that you pay half up-front, and half upon completion of the job. Our guarantee We want you to be happy with the results of our services.
