Hello fellow writers,

I just clicked the "Stop" button on my media player, after listening for more than 4.5 hours (not all at the same time) of The Lion's Game by Nelson DeMille. I stopped at the scene where one of the protagonists kills his girlfriend, just after deflowering her, because she was screaming as American fighter jets were bombing Lybia in the 1986 air raid. This guy is supposed to be the Libyan terrorist, which about twenty years after this story, is seeking revenge for the American attack.

After enduring the two long hours of describing the jet landing where the suspense is so stretched that it can reach from Long Island to China, the story falls back twenty years ago, where the Libyan characters are described as immoral and ruthless killers, again with over-stretched scenes and unnecessary sexual encounters.

Stay clear of this book or any of this author, my humble opinion,
