I asked this question in the Writing Down the Bones thread, but it got missed somehow. So, how do you feel about Anne Lamott's writing? I'm thinking of her book for writers--Bird by Bird-- but you can comment on Traveling Mercies or her novels, too.

I really liked her book, "The Blue Shoe." I read "Bird by Bird" also. My favorite chapter was the one about "shitty first drafts" and getting input from her friends.

I loved both Bird by Bird and Traveling Mercies. I couldn't really get into her fiction too much though.

"Bird by Bird" is hilarious. I liked "Crooked Little Heart," which is a sequel to "Rosie."
