I realise this hasn't been out too long, but since it's from the author of Fatherland, Enigma, Archangel and Pompeii, I'm hoping that some of y'all have read it too.

I read it over the weekend and found it to be good. But not as good as his other fiction works.
I can't quite decide why I'm not blown away by it, but I think it may be the setting. Or rather the time-frame.

I've always thought that Fatherland and Archangel were his best novels and since they were set more recently, I thought that was the key. But The Ghost is set Now.

Basically, I'm wondering if it didn't read as well as the others because it's very Real; with Blair (or, Blair-based character) and all the baggage that comes with him.
Was it too soon to write this book?
