I think they're lovely stories, and it's nice to see a positive view of an African country and its people for a change.
The first book, The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency, has just been made into a film, which will be on BBC TV on Easter weekend.

I read the first one recently and loved it so much I insisted my mom read it too. Now she's also a fan.

I like the Sunday Philosophy Club books a lot, though I think it's silly that they're called "mysteries".

I think the Edinburgh series is terrific too. Scotland Street, all those characters struggling with life.
