I don't feel as bad as I did. I just feel ... what's the word? Delicate.

hmm i think i had that one time. then i got married... or was that when the wive mentioned that she was pregnant. yep i vaguely recall that feeling. Strong drink seems to have fixed that back then.

Thanks, Kyla. I may have mentioned it on twitter instead of here. ;)

hmm someone else who uses that stuff.

*gives Jed some Yorkshire puddings*

And I heard there was a fresh batch of cookies, somewhere? ;)

Sara great to sees you.

well im at it again. attempting to improve my writing skills. just posted the first ~200 words of the rewrite of the 187th rewrite of C1 in the Hook me in 200 section. lets see how bad this one gets hammered.

Hey, everyone! And welcome to all the new people I forgot to say hello to yesterday, and Particleman. :hi:

Work was really quiet. It was awesome. The customers who don't phone are my favourites. :D

I've been known to use Twitter... once or twice a year. :D

The kidlets want to go out to eat and I don't want to cook, so... I guess we're going out to eat.

Hey, SaraP - yup, fresh cookies.

cookies good. Twitter no real use in my real world.

Cookies... Twitter just goes by too fast for me. :/

I guess if i had a cell phone and or cared what the masses were thinking i would spend time on twitter... but, truth is i really dont care that much about most of the twitter universe.

hell i still dont have a use for a cell phone.

I don't get Twitter. I got "invited" to join - whatever that's about - a bunch of times, looked into it, saw a bunch of weird code thingies and forgot about it. Rinse, repeat. The appeal makes no sense to me.

Rock, I thought it was not so terrible as all that! and I am intrigued by the hints of the story. :D

So there.

A.Eagleston, yep, we got rum. As much as you wish for. Welcome to the Pub.

I find twitter mostly interesting and I like using it more than facebook. Although I'm fairly limited in what I use it for. But you should join if only to follow my marvellous 'On this day' and 'Dinosaur Facts' posts. :D

Excellent. Then I shall have some Kraken Spiced! I'm in the mood after reading Mieville. So what's the chatter? Twitter? Never use the site. It just seems like an inferior version of Facebook to me. I can't really pass judgement though. One can't complain until one has tried.

*sets A. Eaglestone up with a double Kraken Spiced*

Reading Melville would probably ruin one's taste even for Facebook, let alone Twitter. :D (I myself never indulge in either; forums and email are plenty to keep up with!)

Well, Fran, looks like you got it back, though?

Reading stuff. Hmm, lessee. You only want fantasy or are you willing to wander in other genres?

No, I'm thinking of going historical this time. Something Ancient Rome-y. Or the Knights Templar. I do ever so much love the Knights Templar. Maybe a biography of Marie Antoinette that doesn't spend half the book talking about the furniture in Versailles. Or Mary Queen of Scots! There are too many books. :tongue

If you like ancient Rome historical, check out Conn Iggulden's Emperor series of books about Julius Caesar. A good read.

I wish I had a better memory for authors' names. There is one writer who wrote about Sparta and a famous battle, that was just amazingly good..... boy, that will really help find it, right.

More recent history, A Soldier in the Great War by Mark Helprin (about WWI) is stunning good.

And then you might want to wander through this thread: http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=274613 which has lots of goodies suggested in it.
